Reduce PDF file size offline in the browser with honest image downsample — no account, no upload.
“Compress PDF” search results are dominated by upload-based freemium tools. IntactPDF’s compress path uses PDF.js to render pages and pdf-lib to rebuild a smaller PDF from JPEG page images.
That tradeoff is intentional and disclosed: you gain size; you may lose crisp vector text. Use Light / Balanced / Strong presets and check before/after bytes on the result card.
Large scanned PDFs may use significant memory. If the tab struggles, try fewer pages or a stronger preset on a split file.
